VB: Minnesota at No. 18 in CSTV/AVCA Poll

rankThe Minnesota volleyball team (16-5, 6-2) was ranked No. 18 in the CSTV/AVCA weekly poll, which was released on Monday, Oct. 24. Minnesota received 550 points in the poll.

Minnesota has been ranked in the top 25 for the past 34 weeks dating back Oct. 20, 2003. The Golden Gophers are one week from tying the school record of 35 straight weeks in the top 25, which was set from Oct. 13, 1999 to Oct. 29, 2001.

There were five Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25 this week. Penn State was the highest ranked team at No. 3, followed by No. 11 Wisconsin, No. 16 Purdue, Minnesota at No. 18 and No. 19 Ohio State.

Minnesota will play a midweek match against Iowa on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. The Golden Gophers will then host Indiana at Williams Arena on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.
