The University of Minnesota men's golf team is rated fifth by Golfweek Magazine in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index. The Gophers rating of 69.60 trails only No. 1 Georgia (68.11), No. 2 Tennessee (69.05), No. 3 Georgia Tech (69.32) and No. 4 Oklahoma State (69.48). It's the highest rating since the Gophers were ranked second in the fall of 2002 coming off their 2002 National Championship.

Minnesota has a win and a runner-up finish in two fall events this season. The Gophers won the inaugural Gopher Invitational and finished second to Northwestern by three shots in the Big Ten/Pac 10 Challenge on Tuesday in Glenview, Ill.

The Gophers return to action on Sunday in the Duke Classic in Durham, N.C.
