VB: Minnesota Heads to Michigan and Michigan State

The Minnesota volleyball team will hit the road in Big Ten play as it heads to Michigan and Michigan State this week. Minnesota will face Michigan on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. (CT), and then head to East Lansing to face Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. (CT). The Golden Gophers enter the weekend at fourth place in Big Ten play at 8-4. Minnesota trails Wisconsin and Purdue by one match for second place. Penn State is in first place at 13-0. The Golden Gophers are also 18-5 overall heading into the weekend. Michigan is in a three-way tie for sixth place at 4-8 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines enter the weekend with a 10-11 overall record. Michigan State is tied for ninth in the Big Ten at 3-9, and has a 10-12 overall record.
Minnesota has a 27-9 Big Ten road record since 2002 after defeating Iowa on Oct. 26. The Golden Gophers were 9-1 on the road in conference play in 2002 on the way to their first Big Ten title. Minnesota went 6-4 in 2003 and was 8-2 in 2004. This year, the Golden Gophers are 4-2 after losing to No. 10 Wisconsin and No. 21 Purdue and winning at Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois and Indiana. Minnesota is 57-15 in Big Ten play overall since 2002.
