VB: Minnesota Remains at No. 17 in CSTV/AVCA Poll

Minnesota has been ranked in the top 25 for the past 36 weeks dating back Oct. 20, 2003. With their appearance in this week’s top 25, the Golden Gophers broke the school record of 35 straight weeks in the top 25 that was set from Oct. 13, 1999 to Oct. 29, 2001. Minnesota has been in the top 25 since Oct. 20, 2003.
There were five Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25 this week. Penn State was the highest ranked team at No. 3, followed by No. 13 Wisconsin, No. 14 Purdue, Minnesota at No. 17 and No. 19 Ohio State.
Minnesota enters the week tied for second place in the Big Ten with Wisconsin and Purdue at 10-4 with six matches remaining on the conference schedule. The Golden Gophers face the Badgers at home this week and Purdue at home on Nov. 26.
This past week, Minnesota won a pair of four-game matches at Michigan and Michigan State. The Golden Gophers split the first two games against the Wolverines and won the final two to claim the victory. Minnesota dropped the first game at Michigan State, and rallied back to win final three games. It was only the second time on the season that Minnesota rallied from a 1-0 deficit to win a match.
