The Minnesota men's swimming and diving team has moved up to a season-high No. 8
national ranking in the College Swim Coaches Association (CSCAA) poll today, following a
dominant performance at the Ohio State Invitational two weeks ago. The Gophers are 5-0
in dual meets this season and have won both of the invitationals they entered.

Defending NCAA champion Auburn remained the top-tanked team in the nation and
received all eight first place votes. Stanford is second with 185 votes and California is third
with 183. Michigan is the top-ranked Big Ten team in fourth place (177) while Arizona
rounds out the top five with 175 votes. Other ranked Big Ten teams include: Indiana
(11th), Purdue (15th), Northwestern (16th), Penn State (18th) and Ohio State (20th).

Minnesota reached No. 6 in the CSCAA poll last season, the highest ranking in the history
of the program.

The Gophers will head to Honolulu following the holidays for their annual training trip.
They will compete against Hawaii on January 6 before heading to Tempe, Ariz. on January
14 before returning to the Twin Cities.
