BB: Minnesota to Host Metrodome Tournament

The Minnesota Golden Gophers will host the Metrodome Tournament on Mar. 11-13. In the first game of the tournament on Friday, Mar. 11, Harvard will take on #19 Louisiana- Lafayette at 1 p.m. The Golden Gophers will face St. John’s at 6:30 p.m. in the second game of the day. St. John’s and Harvard will play the first game of the second day on Saturday, Mar. 12 at 1 p.m. Minnesota will face its fifth ranked team in eight games as it faces Louisiana-Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. in the second game of the day. The tournament will finish up on Sunday, Mar. 13 when St. John’s and Louisiana-Lafayette face each other at 10:30 a.m. Minnesota and Harvard will wrap up the tournament at 2 p.m. Louisiana- Lafayette enters the tournament ranked as high as No. 19 in the nation, and is 14-2 on the season. St. John’s is 6-4, while Harvard will playing its first action of the season. Minnesota is 1-5, after going 1-2 in the Dairy Queen Classic last weekend.
Minnesota will continues its 19-game homestand at the Metrodome when it hosts St. John’s, Louisiana-Lafayette and Harvard this week. The Golden Gophers will face Minnesota-Duluth (Mar. 15), St. Cloud St. (Mar. 16), Rutgers (Mar. 18-20), Butler (Mar. 25 -27), St. Thomas (Mar. 30) and Michigan (Apr. 1-3) as part of the homestand. Last week, the Golden Gophers started the 19-game homestand at the Metrodome 1-2.
