WGM: Carolyn Yernberg earns Big Ten Gymnast of the Week

Yernberg won both events in which she competed in the Gophers’ dual meet victory over Arizona State last weekend. She tied with teammate Laura Johnson for first place on the vault with a 9.850, and won the floor exercise with a score of 9.875. The vault title was Yernberg’s fifth of the season, and the floor title was her sixth of the year. She boasts the team’s top regional qualifying score in both events, with a 9.840 on the vault and a 9.860 on the floor. Yernberg has won event titles for 11 of the 20 routines she has performed in competition this season.
The No. 19 Golden Gophers will next be in action at Iowa State on March 18. The Big Ten Championship will be held on March 26 in Iowa City, Iowa.
