BB: Minnesota Hosts Three-Game Series Against Rutgers at Metrodome

The Minnesota Golden Gophers will host five games at the Metrodome this week. Minnesota started the week with a 10-6 midweek victory over Minnesota-Duluth on Mar. 15 and a 6-0 victory over St. Cloud State on Mar. 16. Minnesota will finish off the week against Rutgers on Friday, Mar. 18 at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Mar. 19 at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 20 at 12 p.m. Rutgers enters the weekend with a 6-7 record after falling to Florida Atlantic and No. 5 Miami this past week. The Golden Gophers are 4-7 after winning a pair of midweek games. Last weekend, Minnesota went 1-2 with a win against St. John’s (4-2) and a pair of losses against Louisiana-Lafayette (3-2 in 10 innings) and Harvard (9 -1).
Minnesota will continue its 19-game homestand at the Metrodome this week. The Golden Gophers will take Rutgers in a three-game seriies Mar. 18-20. Minnesota will also face Butler (Mar. 25-27), St. Thomas (Mar. 30) and Michigan (Apr. 1-3) as part of the homestand. The Golden Gophers have started the homestand 4-4. Minnesota went 1-2 in the Dairy Queen Classic (W, 7-0 vs. New Orleans, L, 6-13 vs. South Carolina, L, 2-15 vs. Pepperdine). The Golden Gophers also went 1-2 last week with a win against St. John’s and losses to Harvard and Louisiana-Lafayette, before winning a pair of games against Minnesota-Duluth (10-6) and St. Cloud State (6-0).
