MGF: Gophers In Ninth After Two Rounds of Boilermaker Invite

MiThe University of Minnesota men's golf team is in ninth place after two rounds of the Boilermaker Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. The Gophers shot rounds of 294-307=691 and trail first place Missouri by 25 shots heading into tomorrow's final round at the par 72, 7,209-yard Kampen Course.

The Gophers were led by sophomore Niall Turner. Turner fired a 69 in round one, his best round of the year and his low round as a collegian. He is tied for 19th at 4-over 148 after two rounds. Junior Josh Persons is tied for 26th at 5-over 149 after carding round of 74 -75. Sophomore Bronson La'Cassie is tied for 32nd at 151 and senior Ben Greve is tied for 49th at 155. Junior Ryan Paulson was disqualified in the second round after shooting a 76 in round one.
