MHK: Alex Goligoski Named to INCH All-Rookie Team

CUniversity of Minnesota men's hockey player Alex Goligoski (Grand Rapids, Minn.) has been named to Inside College Hockey's 2004-05 All-Rookie Team. A freshman defenseman, Goligoski has five goals and 15 assists in 32 games this season. Goligoski and the Golden Gophers take on rival North Dakota next Thursday in the second semifinal at the 2005 NCAA Frozen Four.

A 2004-05 WCHA All-Rookie Team member, Goligoski is currently second among the team’s defensemen and freshmen in scoring. In the WCHA, Goligoski is ninth in the league in rookie scoring, 10th in defenseman scoring and first among freshman defensemen. He has four multi-point games this season to lead the team’s freshmen and has a point in 16 of 32 games. Goligoski represented the United States at the World Junior Championships in Grand Forks, N.D. He has played on Minnesota’s top defensive line this season with junior Chris Harrington.
