GEN: Gopher Greats Added to Hartman Event

inUniversity of Minnesota football legends Bud Grant, Billy Bye, Bob McNamara, Pinky McNamara, Carl Eller, Bobby Bell and Judge Dickson have been added to the list of celebrities attending an event in early August to recognize Sid Hartman’s 60 years as a columnist for the StarTribune and 50 years of sports reporting on WCCO Radio.
The Gopher greats join Bobby Knight, Lou Holtz, Bud Selig and George Steinbrenner as sports celebrities who are coming to the Twin Cities for the two-day event on Aug. 7-8.
A golf tournament at Town & Country on August 8 is sold out, but tickets for a gala dinner/auction at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center on August 7 are still available. Click here for more information on the gala dinner/auction.
Money raised from the event will be held by the University of Minnesota Foundation to be distributed as scholarships in Sid’s name following the completion of Sid’s journalistic career.
