MSD: Cerensek And Delac Compete At Mediterranean Games

Igor Cerensek and Mario Delac completed half of their events this week at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Almeria, Spain. Competing for their native Croatia, the tandem swam legs of the 4x100-meter freestyle relay team that finished fifth overall in 3:25.41.
Delac competed individually in the 50 and 100-meter freestyle as well. He placed fifth in his preliminary heat of the 100 in 52.11. He took sixth in his heat of the 50 free in 24.05. He did not advance to the finals in either event.
Delac and Cerensek will both swim the 200-meter free on Monday and the 4x200 freestyle relay on Sunday.
The swimming competition ends on Tuesday. The Mediterranean Games include competitors from the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Monaco, Morocco, San Marino, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovenia, Spain, Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia and Turkey.
