Turner Earns Golfweek Player of the Week Honors

University of Minnesota men's golfer Niall Turner was named College Player of the Week today by Golfweek.com. Turner, a junior from Cork, Ireland, fired a 1- under 215 to win his first collegiate title this past weekend at the Gopher Invitational. Turner carded rounds of 73-70-72 to lead the Gophers to the team title at Spring Hill Golf Club. This is the first Golfweek honor of Turner's career.

Minnesota is back in action on Oct. 3-4, in Evanston, Ill., at the Big Ten/Pac 10 Challenge.
