Gophers in Fourth After Two Rounds of The Prestige

The University of Minnesota men's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds of The Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif. The Golden Gophers fired rounds of 288-292 for a 4-over-par score of 580, 10 shots behind tournament leader Stanford. Minnesota held the first round lead at even par 288 but went backwards in the afternoon while Stanford, UCLA and UC Irvine posted below par scores.
The Gophers were led by freshman Ben Pisani who fired a pair of 70s and is in third place at 4-under 140. Senior Niall Turner fired a first round 67 and is tied for 10th at even par 144. Senior Bronson La'Cassie carded a second round 71 and is tied for 22nd at 3-over 147. Junior Clayton Rask is tied for 32nd at 5-over 149 and sophomore Victor Almstrom is tied for 57th at 12-over 156.
The final round is tomorrow at the par 72, 7,156-yard Greg Norman Course at PGA West.
