Gophers Finish 14th At PING/Golfweek Preview

The University of Minnesota men's golf team finished 14th at the PING/Golfweek Preview in Williamsburg, Va. The Golden Gophers shot a final round 292 for a 54-hole total of 34-over-par 874 and finished 40 shots behind tournament winner Florida.

Minnesota was led by senior All-American Bronson La'Cassie. La'Cassie carded a final round 73 and fell out of contention, but still recorded his second top-10 finish of the fall season with a tie for ninth at even-par 210. Billy Horschel of Florida won medalist honors at 7-under 203. Senior Niall Turner tied for 44th at 8-over 218 after a 75 today. Sophomore Andy Paulson fired the best round of the day for the Gophers with a 71 and tied with teammate Clayton Rask for 61st at 14-over 224. Freshman Ben Pisani carded his best round of the tournament with a 73 and tied for 72nd at 232.

Minnesota is back in action at The Prestige in Stanford, Calif., on Oct. 16-17.
