Alex Seaton Captures Singles Title at 2006 Wildcat Invitational

University of Minnesota women's tennis player Alex Seaton (Edina, Minn.) captured a singles title today at the 2006 Wildcat Invitational in Evanston, Ill. For the tournament, the transfer from Colgate posted a 4-0 record to lead the Golden Gophers. The Maroon and Gold compiled an overall singles record of 25-13 and a doubles mark of 6-12 at the Wildcat Invite.

In Singles Flight 3, Seaton upended Ashley Moccia of Western Michigan, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, in the semifinals before edging Alexis Conill of host Northwestern, 6-4, 7-6 (3) in the title match. For the season, Seaton now owns a 8-3 record.

The Golden Gophers next head to East Lansing, Mich., for the ITA Midwest Regional on Oct. 19-24.
