HIGHLIGHT VIDEOS IN RECRUITING

Highlight videos used for recruiting purposes must follow NCAA Bylaw 13.4.2 requirements. Beyond actual video footage of the contests, permissible highlight videos made for recruiting purposes may consist of game day activities that are directly related to the contest. Activities that are permissible to put in a video include:
  • pre-game pep talks
  • player introductions
  • half-time performances from the band
  • cheerleader performances during the game
  • crowd reactions to the game
  • sideline coaching activities
  • post-game on-the-field awards presentations
Activities that cannot be shown on a highlight video for recruiting purposes are:
  • team travel
  • team meals
  • entertainment activities with the team
  • practice activities
  • institutional facilities (including video/pictures of championship banners from previous years)
Further, any narration or text included in these videos must pertain to the particular event or the sports season as a whole.

All highlight videos must be approved by the Compliance Office prior to showing a prospect or posting on gophersports.com.
