Donor Recognition
Your support of Minnesota Athletics through the Golden Gopher Fund is greatly appreciated by the dedicated student-athletes who will benefit from your generosity. In addition, your gift may qualify you for certain types of donor recognition which are described here.
Golden Gopher Fund Recognition Clubs
Your total amount of giving during our fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) may qualify you for recognition in one of the Golden Gopher Fund recognition Clubs listed in the giving chart. Recognition in each club lasts for one year and is based on giving in the previous giving year. Each club includes all the recognition provided by clubs below it.

Recognition of Gifts to the Forever Gold Scholarship Endowment Program
Endowment gifts can qualify the donor for different types of naming and designation opportunities for the specific scholarship they support.
Gold Level Endowment
Each endowment of $300,000 and above provides a named, fully funded scholarship (tuition, room and board) for a specific team position. For example, the John Doe Football Scholarship for a Quarterback.
Maroon Level Endowment
Each endowment of $150,000-$299,999 provides a named, partially funded scholarship (partial tuition and fees, room and board) for a particular sport. For example, the John and Jane Doe Scholarship for Women’s Basketball.
Bronze Level Endowment
Each endowment of $25,000 - $149,999 establishes a fund for a future named scholarship. For example, the Doe Family Athletics Scholarship.
Recognition Related to Special Projects
Fundraising programs for Special Projects might provide specific forms of donor recognition. Check with the Golden Gopher Fund office for recognition opportunities related to a particular Special Project
Recognition of Lifetime Giving to the University
All gifts to the Golden Gopher Fund count towards recognition through the University of Minnesota Presidents Club. The Presidents Club recognizes the University’s most generous benefactors – individuals, families and organizations – who want to see the University continue to be one of the nation’s great centers of higher learning.
Presidents Club recognition is offered when a donor reaches $25,000 or more in lifetime gifts or pledges, or makes a planned or future gift, to the University. Different societies within the Presidents Club recognize different levels of lifetime giving. Society recognition is permanent until giving levels qualify a donor for recognition at a higher level.
