Golden Gophers Post Personal Bests at Macalester Twilight Meet

Freshman Adewole Adebayo ran a career-best time of 47.98 seconds to pace a Minnesota sweep of the top three places of the 400-meter dash at the Macalester Twilight Meet in St. Paul on Wednesday. Jason Erickson placed second with a time of 48.89, while Sayfe Jassim was third in 49.02 career bests for them as well.

Mike Linnemann won the title in the 400-meter hurdles with a clocking of 54.56 seconds, the fourth Gopher to run a personal best on the track.

The Gophers captured first-place finishes in three throwing events. Peter Miller won the discus with a career-best throw of 162 feet. Chris Hudspith won the hammer with a throw of 172-10, while Jerry Netland took the shot put with a heave of 50-2 1/2.
