What is the Power Play Club?
The Power Play Club is the official booster association of Gopher Women’s Hockey (GWH). As a member you will have the opportunity to experience women’s hockey on a more personal level as you develop friendships with other fans, coaches and players.
Your membership in the Power Play Club provides support and encouragement for the University of Minnesota Women’s Hockey Team players in their quest for academic and athletic excellence.
The Power Play Club:
- Seeks to build a bigger fan base.
- Endeavors to enrich the hockey experience.
- Raises money to support the U of M Women’s Hockey Team.
- Provides opportunities for member fun.
What Happens to Funds Raised by the Power Play Club?
- Sponsors a GWH scholarship which increases each year as our contribution is matched by a President’s Fund.
- Helps to maintain a skating treadmill used by Gopher men and women.
- Sponsors the annual Gopher Women’s Hockey awards banquet.
- Provides funding for occasional GWH “wish list” needs not supported by the Athletic Department.
- Sponsors member receptions and other member benefits.
Basic Memberships Benefits Include:
- Game schedule, newsletter and member-only email updates.
- Four Receptions in the Ridder Club Room. Each reception includes food, friendship, interviews with players, coaches comments and more. Receptions are free to members and cost $?? for non-members.
- Brunch with the Coaches at a local restaurant. Lunches include presentations by Laura Halldorson, an opposing team coach, a Q & A period, socialization, great food and a chance drawing. Power Play members are admitted at a reduced price.
- Two pre-game Chalk Talks in which coaches reveal strategy, tricks-of-the-trade, things to watch in the upcoming game. These are Power Play Club member-only free events
- The Annual Banquet offers awards for players, presentations by coaches and players, excellent food and fan bonding. Power Play members are admitted at a reduced price.
- Additional premiums for members at higher levels (see membership levels).

plus an additional free ticket to a Power Play Club Brunch with the Coaches or to the Awards Banquet
Locker Sponsor
$500
Locker Sponsor members will also receive Maroon Club Benefits
plus a sponsorship sign located on the GWH player’s locker during the upcoming season with a picture of the player next to her locker. ($300 of each Locker Sponsorship goes to the PPC Scholarship Fund)
