Golden Gophers Finish 11th at Big Ten Championships

The University of Minnesota women's golf team shot a final round 327 in inclement weather at the Big Ten Championships in Bloomington, Ind., to finish in 11th place. The Gophers finished 84 shots behind Big Ten Champ Purdue at the par 72, 6,142-yard IU Golf Course.
The Gophers were led by freshman Suvi Mantyiemi who carded a 79 today and finished tied for 26th at 308. Sophomore Emily Brand completed the tournament tied for 38th at 313 after an 82 Sunday. Freshman Sydney Liles tied for 47th at 318 and junior Sophie Stubbs tied for 59th at 329. Junior Samantha Braschler carded an 82 in the final round and was 61st at 330 followed by freshman Young Na Lee in 62nd place at 332.
Brand was Minnesota's Sportmanship Award winner for the second straight year.
