This past season, he was also the first freshman since Mee to claim All-Big Ten honors as he was named a third-team All-Big Ten outfielder.
In his redshirt freshman season, Nohelty finished eight in the Big Ten in batting average (.361), ninth in on-base percentage (.439) and tied for ninth with 18 stolen bases. In Big Ten play, he was third in the conference in batting average (.389), seventh in on-base percentage (.440) and tied for sixth in stolen bases with 11.
Nohelty received the Paul Molitor Batting Champion Award for having the highest batting average on the team, as he led the way with a .361 batting average. He also led the team with 18 stolen bases, and had a team-high .389 average in Big Ten play.
He was the first freshman to lead Minnesota in batting average since Sam Steidl did so in 2001. Nohelty was also the first freshman to lead the Golden Gophers in stolen bases and Big Ten batting average since Scott Howard did so in 1999.
Nohelty batted .333 with four runs and four RBI in the Big Ten Tournament for Minnesota. He was also named to the Big Ten All-Academic Team this past spring.
