Learning Support

Learning Specialists are full-time professional McNamara Academic Center staff who design and implement the learning support programs, including Enhancement, learning groups, and supervised study. These experienced teachers are available to help all student-athletes with learning issues, study or academic skills, or specific coursework. They also provide referrals to other campus learning resources. They are available by appointment or on a walk-in basis. All learning specialists supervise learning support areas, and are assigned to the following areas.

Study Supervisors are part time staff who assist in the implementation of the Supervised Study Program. They are specifically responsible for supervising students and maintaining a good climate in the learning areas during the evening.

Writing Tutors are available Sunday through Thursday evenings to help students with the process of writing. They are available by appointment or on a walk-in basis.

Subject Area Tutors work with individuals and small groups to help students with course content. Tutors may be assigned specific times and days to work with groups for the most common first-year courses, especially math and science. They are also available by appointment.
