Golden Gopher Coaches Shows To Air On WCCO Radio

Learfield Communications, in conjunction with the University of Minnesota Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, has reached an agreement with WCCO Radio to carry all of the Golden Gopher Coaches Radio Shows for the 2006-07 season. Head Coaches Glen Mason, Dan Monson, Don Lucia and Pam Borton will be heard as part of the Sports to the Max Show on location at various Twin Cities restaurants.
“Gopher Sports Properties is thrilled WCCO will be our local partner on the new Coaches Shows,” Greg Gerlach, General Manager for Gopher Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Communications said. “To have great local coverage on WCCO, but also the presence of a growing Gopher Radio Network to reach all fans in Minnesota and beyond is very important to the future success of Gopher Athletics. We are excited to bring these coaches into the community each week and look forward to building a new tradition with the shows.”
Head football coach Glen Mason’s radio show can be heard every Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m., beginning on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4, with co-hosts Mike Grimm and Mike Max. The hour-long show will run 12 weeks plus the postseason. Head hockey coach Don Lucia’s half-hour show will air on Wednesdays premiering on Oct. 11, and run for 22 weeks plus the postseason. The Dan Monson Show, hosted by Grimm and Max, and the Pam Borton Show will run back-to-back each Monday beginning on Nov. 20 for 15 weeks plus the postseason.

Now fans throughout the State will have a chance to hear from the Gopher coaches even more each week during the school year.”
