"The University of Minnesota Co-ed Cheer Team is a highly spirited and enthusiastic group of men and women who are selected to be visible ambassadors of the University, appearing at university functions as well as community events. Team members have the honor and privilege of cheering for the legendary Gopher Football Team in the Huber H. Humphrey Metrodome for one last year before moving to the brand new TCF Bank Stadium in 2009. In addition to home games, the Co-ed Cheer Team travels with the football team to other great Big Ten venues and bowl games across the country. The team also has the privilege to cheer for the Gopher Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams and traveling with those teams to Big Ten Tournaments as well as NCAA and NIT Tournaments.
Every year, the Co-ed Cheer Team members commit to training for the UCA National Competition in Orlando, Florida, either as a competitor or to serve as an alternate. The Co-ed Cheer Team has been consistently positioned as one of the top 15 teams in the country, placing 8th in 2008 at UCA Nationals and winning first place in the region the past six out of seven years. The team also continually achieves success at the UPA National Competition, placing first and winning Grand National Champs in 2003 and 2006, as well as winning the partner stunt competition in 2007 and taking second and third in 2008!"
