Gophers Finish 10th at Badger Invitational

The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished 10th at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wis. The Gophers fired their best round of the tournament, a 313, despite 20 mile an hour winds, rain and temps in the 50s. Minnesota finished 41 shots behind tournament winner Indiana.
Minnesota was led by freshman Christine Herzog. In her first collegiate tournament, Herzog fired a career-best 77 Monday and finished in 26th place at 22-over 238. Sophomore Anne Martin struggled today en route to an 85, but finished tied for 32nd at 25-over 241. Sophomore Young Na Lee fired the best round of her short collegiate career leading the Gophers with a third-round 76. Lee moved up into a tie for 40th at 27-over 243. Senior Samantha Braschler and junior Kelli Berns, playing as an individual tied for 47th at 31-over 247. Sophomore Sydney Liles carded a 79 today and tied for 57th at 35-over 255.
The Gophers are back in action this weekend at the Lady Northern in East Lansing, Mich.
