I had been involved in figure skating and I knew that I wanted to continue figure skating in college somehow. I heard from one of my previous friends who used to figure skate with me, about hockey cheerleading and I decided I wanted to do this. It was a great way to make new friends right away, learn something I had never done before, and continue figure skating What is your favorite part about cheering for the Gophers? Definitely the energy of the crowd and the love and dedication you feel when you're at a hockey game or any sport at the U. The fans are proud of who they cheer for and I love feeling that connection with them and supporting our players. What is your favorite cheerleading memory? My favorite memory would be during my freshman year when the cheer team got to travel to Denver for the Frozen Four. It was a totally new experience and I will probably always remember it. What cheer accomplishment are you most proud of? I am the most proud of how much I have learned in the last three years. Going from not knowing any cheerleading at all to participating in my fourth year on the Hockey Cheer Team I am very proud of how much I have improved over the years and I hope to continue to do so. Fun Fact: I have a big sweet tooth and seafood is my absolute favorite to eat | |
