Golden Gopher Hockey Teams Hold Annual Media Day

The University of Minnesota men's and women's hockey teams held their annual media day today in the Mariucci Arena Club Room. Head coach Laura Halldorson, along with Andrea Nichols and Bobbi Ross, talked about expectations for the women's team following its national runner-up finish in 2006. Head coach Don Lucia, along with Mike Vannelli, Alex Goligoski and Kellen Briggs, addressed the team's typical high expectations entering the 2006-07 season.
The Gold Zone will be the place to be for all Gopher hockey fans in 2006-07. Live audio of all games, exclusive interviews with coaches and players throughout the season and live video from selected women's games will be available. The Gold Zone and Fox Sports North have also partnered to provide highlights from all televised men's and women's hockey games this season. Here is a preview.
In addition, the Gold Zone is also the home for archived video from the rich history of Golden Gopher hockey, such as the 1991-92 WCHA Championship season, the 1985-86 season under first-year head coach Doug Woog as well as Herb Brooks' NCAA title team during the 1975-76 season.
