MATCHUP
The Gophers return to action after a mid-week bye as they travel to Iowa City to take on the Hawkeyes. Both teams are 1-1 in conference play with Iowa losing at Illinois, 74-70, on Wednesday. Before the Illinois loss, the Hawks had won four straight including a Big Ten opening win over Michigan State at home.
SCOUTING the Hawkeyes
Iowa has a different look this year with the loss of four seniors off last year’s Big Ten Tournament championship team. The Hawkeyes are led by senior wing Adam Haluska who’s leading the league in scoring overall at averaging 20.2 points per game overall and in conference games at 20.5 ppg. Freshman forward Tyler Smith is second on the team in scoring at 15.0 ppg along with 4.8 rebounds per contest. Senior guard Mike Henderson missed the first seven games of the season with an injured hand, but has returned to the lineup.
