The Golden Gopher men's gymnastics team placed fourth out of six teams tonight at the Windy City Classic in Chicago, Ill., with a score of 205.65. Michigan won the meet with a score of 212.75, while Illinois took second with a 209.75, Ohio State placed third with a 209.50, and Iowa (198.40) and Illinois-Chicago (196.15) placed behind Minnesota in fifth and sixth respectively.

As a team, the Gophers had the second-highest team score on pommel horse and still rings, while registering the fourth-highest total on parallel bars and high bars.

Individually, Jake Lee placed second in the all-around with a score of 51.75, while Andre Berry placed ninth in the all-around with a score of 47.30. Kit Beikmann had the Gophers' highest score on pommel horse with an 8.95, while Cole Storer had a second place finish on vault to lead the Maroon and Gold with a mark of 8.85.

"Overall, we have a lot of work to do, but I see a lot of positive things to take from this meet as well," said Gopher head men's gymnastics coach Mike Burns. "Our score of 205.65 is not far off the score we posted at the NCAAs last season so that gives us a good starting point. Individually, we have some things that we can clean up and we are excited about returning to Minneapolis for our home opener next weekend against Illinois."
