Rask Continues Hot Play at The Prestige

Minnesota senior Clayton Rask continued his torrid play during the opening two rounds of The Prestige at PGA WEST in La Quinta, Calif., Monday, carding back to back scores of 4-under par 68 to lead the 84-player field heading into Tuesday’s third and final round.
Rask will take a three-stroke lead into Tuesday’s final 18 holes as he looks for his second straight tournament victory. The senior shot a three-round total of 7-under 206 to finish in a two-way tie for first at the Windon Memorial Classic in the Gophers’ last outing on Oct. 8.
Unfortunately, Rask was the only Gopher to close out day one in the top 20 as Minnesota carded a combined team total of 14-over 590 to finish up the opening two rounds in 13th place.
Junior Victor Almstrom stands tied for 49th after shoot a 6-over par 150, while sophomore Ben Pisani and senior Patrick Datz shot 8-over 152 to end the day tied for 62nd.
Minnesota will try to close the gap on the field during Tuesday’s third and final round. The Gophers are just 12 strokes outside the top three. Charlotte sits atop the team leaderboard at 10-under par 566 followed by Central Florida (570) and Stanford (578).
