Comments on Prospects Prior to Signing
Under NCAA Bylaw 13.10.2, prior to a prospect signing a NLI or an institution’s written offer of admission or financial aid, institutional staff members may comment publicly only to the extent of confirming its recruitment of the prospect. This means we cannot comment on the athletic abilities of a prospect or the impact a prospect would have on a program. These comments cannot be made in any public forum (i.e. newspaper, radio/TV show, booster club function, donor functions, etc...)
This rule also applies to our student-athletes. Therefore, one of our current student-athletes could not comment publicly about the athletic abilities of any prospective student-athletes.
