WALK-ON TRYOUTS

We often get questions regarding walk-on tryouts at this time of year.  Tryouts may be only held after the first day of fall semester and during your declared playing and practice season (i.e. 20 hour season; not the 8 hour individual skill/conditioning time period).  Prior to the tryout all participants must:

  1. Be admitted and enrolled full-time at the U of M.
  2. Be cleared by the Athletic Training Staff
  3. Come into the Compliance Office to complete both the NCAA and Big Ten Drug Testing Consent Forms.

A tryout may not last more than 3 days without the student-athlete being required to fill out all compliance eligibility forms and officially added to your roster.

I have included below the link to the Walk-on Tryout tipsheet located on our website for further details of this process.  Please contact the Compliance Office with any questions.
