Women's Golf Finishes in Ninth at Hawkeye Invitational

The Minnesota women’s golf team was unable to make up any ground Sunday as the Golden Gophers closed out play at the Hawkeye Invitational in ninth place with a combined three-round score of 979 at the Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa.
Chattanooga captured the overall team title with a 54-hole score of 909 followed by Wisconsin (928) and Cincinnati (936). Katie Elliott of Wisconsin fired at 1-over par 217 to take individual medalist honors.
The Gophers were led by junior Paige Bromen, who used a final-round 80 to climb one spot and finish in a tie for 18th at 76-80-80236.
Freshman Mary Narsizi and senior Emily Brand also finished in the top 50. Narsizi
used a final-round 81 to climb eight spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 35th with a 54-hole score of 246. Brand tied for 44th with a two-day score of 250.
The Minnesota women’s golf team returns to action on Friday, Oct. 19, when the Gophers travel to Greenville, S.C., for the Lady Paladin Invitational.
