Matt Carlson, MA, ATC | Office Phone: 612-625-2850 email: carl2649@umn.edu Matt Carlson is entering his second year at the University of Minnesota serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Carlson works directly with the Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving programs and Men's Gymnastics. Carlson completed his undergraduate degree in 1998 at Bethel University with a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training and Physical Education K-12. After graduation Carlson pursued a position at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis where he provided care for athletes representing 22 Varsity sports and taught Physical Education. Carlson returned to graduate school at the University of Minnesota to obtain his Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology and graduated in 2009. During his graduate work he provided medical care as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer working with the Baseball program. Shortly after, he rejoined the Athletic Medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer working with Men's Gymnastics and Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving.
