Moira Novak, MS, ATC | Office Phone: 612-624-5084 E-mail: Moira Novak Moira Novak, MS, ATC Moira Novak started her career at the University of Minnesota in the Fall of 1998 and continues her position as Director of Athletic Medicine and Athletic Trainer with the Gopher Women's Basketball team. Novak currently serves as the Director of Athletic Medicine for Intercollegiate Athletics, where she oversees and administers all areas of Athletic Medicine and works closely with all medical staff. Prior to her appointment as Director over the combined Men' and Women's departments, she served as Director of Athletic Training and Performance Enhancement for the University of Minnesota Women's Athletic Department where she oversaw both Athletic Training and Strength and Conditioning. Novak, a Portland, Oregon native, obtained her undergraduate degree in Physical Education and Human Movement Studies at the University of Oregon in 1988. Novak was also a four-year letter winner on the Ducks Track and Field team. In 1992 she received her Master of Science degree in Athletic Training at the University of Oregon. Novak served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Illinois until 1995 working with the Track and Field teams, Women's Swimming, and Fencing. Prior to her arrival at the University of Minnesota, Novak served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Oregon where she worked with the Women's Basketball and Track and Field teams from 1995-1998. Novak and her husband, Darrell, reside in Woodbury with their sons, Ian (5) and Finn (born November 2009).
