Hoppis joins the Football Athletic Medicine staff in 2010 as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer.  A native of South San Francisco, CA, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training from Azusa Pacific University in 2006.  After her undergraduate education, Shelby moved to the East Coast and worked for one year at the University of Maryland as a certified athletic trainer intern with Men's & Women's Track and Field.  She then joined the Maryland staff full-time in July 2007.  She was responsible for the Wrestling and Men's & Women's Golf teams.  Hoppis plans to obtain her Master of Arts degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport & Exercise Psychology in May 2012 from the University of Minnesota.
