The Western Collegiate Hockey Association has announced that Jen Schoullis was named the WCHA Rookie of the Week for her performance against Minnesota Duluth last weekend. It is the first honor for Schoullis and the team's fourth WCHA weekly honor this season.
Schoullis, a freshman forward from Girard, Pa., scored the Golden Gophers’ third goal in a 3-0 victory over WCHA-rival Minnesota Duluth last Sunday (Nov. 18). The win gave Minnesota a series split with the league leaders and three victories in four games against the Bulldogs this season. Her goal came on just two shots attempted in the win and Schoullis also held a plus/minus rating of +1. The rookie has scored two goals in the past three games, with her second goal of the season coming against then-No. 1 Wisconsin in a 3-2 upset. Schoullis now has eight points in 12 games, which she is tied for fourth on the team in scoring.
Schouliis and the rest of the Golden Gophers will host North Dakota this weekend, Nov. 24-25. Both games are scheduled for a 3 p.m. start at Ridder Arena.
