"We feel that all five of these student-athletes are a perfect fit for our program on and off the field," said Anderson. "These are very talented incoming players, along with being tremendous students in the classroom. Troy (Larson) and Matt (Puhl) are both great athletes who will help solidify our program up the middle for the future, while Austin (Lubinsky) is a pitcher who has a chance to come in next year and contribute to our program. JT (Canakes) gives us a left-handed outfield bat with big upside. Kurt (Schlangen) is a versatile athlete who could come in and help us behind the plate, or could serve our program in a variety of different ways either on the mound or in the field. Overall, this class is a good blend of players who want to be part of this program, and should combine with the young group of players we have in the program right now to provide a great foundation for the future success of the Gopher baseball program."
