Minnesota senior forward Leslie Knight was named the Big Ten Player of the Week after leading the Golden Gophers to a pair of impressive victories to open the Conference season. The award is the first of Knight’s collegiate career.

Knight kicked off her Big Ten season by collecting her second career double-double, scoring 16 points and pulling down 11 rebounds in the Gophers’ 73-64 victory at Michigan State. The Gopher tri-captain then established a new career high with a 20-point outing in the 70-63 win over Purdue. Knight shot 60.9 percent from the floor in the two games, converting 14 of 23 field goal attempts.

Minnesota (11-3, 2-0 Big Ten) hosts Iowa on Thursday at 7 p.m.
