Gophers Move Up to Ninth at Rio Verde Invitational

The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished in ninth place in the Rio Verde Invitational at the Quail Run Golf Course in Scottsdale, Ariz. this weekend. The Golden Gophers fired a score of 299 in the second round to finish with a total of 609. Toledo placed first with a score of 587.
Minnesota was led by freshman Leslie Grabeman and sophomore Sydnes Liles, who tied for ninth place with a two-round score of 148. Senior Sam Braschler tied for 60th with a score of 160, while freshman Christine Herzog tied for 65th with 158. Junior Kelly Burns tied for 82nd with 161, while sophomore Young Na Lee tied for 100th with 168.
The Gophers will be in action next weekend from March 16-18 at the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas.
