DONATION TO A NON-PROSPECT

Generally, the NCAA precludes donations to prospect aged individuals as a recruiting violation. The NCAA further bars donations to organizations comprised of prospect-aged individuals with limited exceptions. In 2001, the NCAA altered its stance on donations to high-school aged non-prospects. If a high-school aged student has zero chance of ever participating in college athletics, due to disability, a handicap, or a terminal or chronic illness, then a donation from student-athletes or the institution is permissible.

The NCAA precludes the ability to make this donation if a direct relative of this non-prospect is considered a prospect.
