TRAVEL HOUR RULES
The NCAA has strict limitations on departure and return hours to and from campus. According to 16.8.1.2.1, teams are allowed to leave campus no earlier than 48 hours before a competition and must return within 36 hours of the completion of the competition.
There are several exceptions in 16.8.1.2.1.1 the most often used is listed under item 16.8.1.2.1.1(f). This exception allows for an institution to provide travel expenses beyond the 48/36 rule limitations during institutional vacation periods for a regular season competition.
