Gophers In 12th After One Round of the Indiana Invitational

The University of Minnesota women's golf team is in 12th place after one round of the Indiana Invitational in Indianapolis, Ind. The Gophers fired a first round 316 and trail tournament leader Michigan State by 17 shots. The final round is tomorrow at the par 72, 5,938-yard Crooked Stick Golf Club.

Individually, Minnesota was led by sophomore Anne Martin who fired a career best 75 in round one and is tied for eighth, three shots behind individual leader Seul Ki Park of Illinois. Junior Kelli Berns carded a solid opening round of 77 and is tied for 23rd. Freshman Christine Herzog is tied for 54th after a 9-over 81 and sophomore Young Na Lee is tied for 70th at 11-over 83. Sophomore Sydney Liles is tied for 77th at 84.
