Golden Gophers Announce 2007-08 Men's Hockey Schedule

The University of Minnesota has released its 38-game regular season men’s hockey schedule for the 2007-08 campaign. The defending WCHA Regular Season and Final Five Champions will open the regular season with the IceBreaker Invitational at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., on Oct. 12-13. In the first round, Minnesota will take on RPI, while Boston College will face Michigan. The Golden Gophers open the 2007-08 WCHA schedule with a road series at Colorado College on Oct. 19-20.

In non-conference action, the Maroon and Gold hosts CCHA foe Ohio State on Oct. 25-26, and will head to Michigan State and Michigan for the 15th annual College Hockey Showcase on Nov. 23-24. Air Force, Boston College and RIT will visit Mariucci Arena for the 17th annual Dodge Holiday Classic on Dec. 29-30. Minnesota will face RIT in the first round at 7:07 p.m., and regardless of the outcome, will play at 7:07 p.m., on the second day.

The Golden Gophers will open the New Year with a non-conference series at Mariucci Arena against Wayne State on Jan. 4-5, before closing out the season with eight WCHA series.

In the 28-game WCHA schedule, the Golden Gophers will not host Colorado College at Mariucci Arena and will not travel to Michigan Tech. The Golden Gophers close out the regular season at home vs. rival Minnesota Duluth on March 7-8.

The 2008 WCHA Final Five will be held for the eighth straight season at Xcel Energy Center on March 20-22. The NCAA Regionals on March 28-30 will be held in Albany, N.Y., Colorado Springs, Colo., Madison, Wis., and Worcester, Mass. The 2008 NCAA Frozen Four will be played at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo., on April 10 & 12.

All home games are scheduled to begin at 7:07 p.m., except for the Sunday, Nov. 4, game vs. Denver, which will begin at 2:07 p.m. The link to the 2007-08 schedule, subject to change, is above.
