Golden Gophers Enjoy Afternoon at the State Fair

Several members of the Golden Gopher women’s basketball team enjoyed a busy afternoon at the State Fair on Thursday, spending time meeting fans and making media appearances, as well as sampling some of the famous tastes of the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
“We always have a great time at the fair,” said Golden Gopher head coach Pam Borton. “It’s a chance for us to take part in a wonderful Minnesota tradition and have some fun as a team over a pronto pup or some cheese curds.”
The Gophers appeared on the University of Minnesota stage, then stopped by WCCO Radio and WCCO TV for live interviews. The Gophers also took part in the We Power project, where WCCO TV is powering its news broadcasts by electricity generated by bike power.
