Ice Breaker Invitational Tickets Go On Sale

Individual tickets for the 2007 College Hockey Ice Breaker Invitational to be held Friday-Saturday, Oct. 12-13 at Xcel Energy Center, are available for purchase, tournament officials announced Wednesday.
Tickets are available at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations (651-989-5151) and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Both single-day and two-day ticket packages are available. The two-day package includes one ticket for each day with same seat location for all four games of the tournament.
Four premier men’s hockey teams from the top college hockey conferences in the nation will face off in this year’s tournament, including Minnesota. Boston College, Michigan and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) will also take part in the tournament.
Boston College and Michigan will open the tournament at 4:30 p.m. (CT) on Friday, with the Gophers’ meeting RPI in the nightcap at 7:30 (CT).
Saturday’s action will feature the consolation game at 4:30 p.m. (CT), followed by the Ice Breaker Invational championship matchup at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
The annual Ice Breaker Invitational has developed into the most anticipated season-opening tournament in all of college hockey since its inception in 1997.
The 2007 edition of the Ice Breaker will mark the event’s first appearance at Xcel Energy Center
Developed by the Hockey Commissioners Association, which is comprised of the commissioners of the six Division I college hockey conferences, the Ice Breaker perennially brings together some of the best teams in the nation and provides fans with a destination to celebrate the start of a new year of college hockey.
Xcel Energy Cente has been voted “Best Stadium Experience” twice by ESPN The Magazine. It has hosted many premier college hockey events including the annual Red Baron WCHA Final Five, the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame game in 2002, 2004 and 2006; and the 2002 NCAA Frozen Four, which will return to the venue in 2011.
