The Minnesota Athletics Department announced Thursday that the Golden Gopher men’s hockey program will make 37 regular-season television appearances during its upcoming 2007-08 campaign.

The television schedule includes all but one regular-season game and has the Gophers appearing 32 times on Fox Sports Net North and five times on the Big Ten Network. The lone game not included in the television package is the Gophers’ Jan. 5 home date with Wayne State.

All 26 WCHA games and as many as nine contests against 2007 NCAA Tournament participants are included in the television package.

Minnesota opens its 2007-08 season on Friday, Oct. 12, on FSN North in game two of the Ice Breaker Invitational at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) at 7:30 p.m. The Gophers’ second-day game of the tournament against either Boston College or Michigan will also air on FSN North.

The Gophers will make their first television appearance on the Big Ten Network on Friday, Nov. 23, when Minnesota visits defending national champion Michigan State in the College Hockey Showcase. The BTN will also televise the Gophers’ match-up at Michigan on day two of the College Hockey Showcase on Saturday, Nov. 24.

Minnesota’s home games vs. St. Cloud State on Friday, Jan. 11, and Wisconsin on Friday, Feb. 22, as well as the Gophers’ road game at Denver on Friday, Feb. 8, are also slated to appear on the Big Ten Network.
