Minnesota Big Ten Network Day Proclamation

WHEREAS, the Big Ten Network will be the first national network to commit to event equality for men and women sports; and
WHEREAS, the Big Ten Network will provide greater national exposure to the excellence that surrounds the University of Minnesota and the rich achievements of its academic community; and
WHEREAS, the Big Ten Network will provide unprecedented access to conference sports, events, shows, original programming in academics, the arts and sciences, and campus activity providing access to the vast resources of the university to a wider audience; and
WHEREAS, the Big Ten Network will provide a positive economic impact through job creation and training at the University and the community; and
WHEREAS, the Big Ten Network is an extension of Heartland values, campus tradition and scholastic excellence that is the mark of the University of Minnesota;
NOW THEREFORE, I, RT Rybak, Mayor of the city of Minneapolis, do hereby proclaim September 28, 2007 as
MINNESOTA BIG TEN NETWORK DAY
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the City of Minneapolis, this 28th day of September 2007.
