"M" Letter Jacket

Bill Crumley, who passed away tragically in June, 2005, was a member of the Golden Gopher staff for 17 years (1985-2002), before becoming director of marketing & communications at Madden’s Resort near Brainerd. Bill first served as a student football manager for “Matty” (Dick Mattson) when Lou Holtz and then John Gutekunst were head coaches. After earning his undergraduate degree from the “U”, Bill became a graduate assistant in the Gopher men’s sports information office in 1989. A year later he was hired as a full-time assistant in the SID office. Bill was named director of media relations for the Gophers in 2000, a position he held until taking the job at Madden’s. Bill earned a varsity “M” letter as a student manager in 1987, but never received his letter jacket. He is survived by his wife Kimberly and children Ben and Ali.
